 “CDAMP <\/span>TIER GROUP DESCRIPTIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW YORK STATE CERTIFICATION”<\/span><\/p>\n

TIER I:  <\/strong><\/span>Present Status:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                No formal training and less than 2 years work experience<\/span><\/p>\n

                Required Course Work<\/span>:<\/span>  Modules I \u2013 VIII <\/span>plus<\/em><\/strong> 2 years of dental assisting work experience or the BOCES daytime Certified Dental Assisting Program<\/span><\/p>\n

TIER II:<\/span>  Present Status:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                <\/strong>Has at least 2 years of dental assisting work experience, and <\/em><\/strong>lacks DANB Certification, Usually has no formal education<\/span><\/p>\n

                Required Course Work<\/span>:<\/span> Modules I \u2013VIII<\/p>\n

TIER III:  <\/span>Present Status:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                  <\/strong>DANB Certification but has no formal education<\/span><\/p>\n

                 Required Course Work<\/span>: <\/span>  <\/span>Modules II, V, VI, VII, VIII  <\/span><\/p>\n

TIER IV:<\/span>  Present Status:  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                  Has completed a formal dental assisting education program but <\/em><\/strong>program was not a NYS Certified Dental Assisting Program as required by the NYS Certified Dental Assisting Law (i.e. graduate of SCT-BOCES Dental Assisting Program before June 1998) and <\/em><\/strong>DANB Certification  <\/span><\/p>\n

                 Required Course Work<\/span>:  <\/span>Module VII, VIII<\/span><\/p>\n

                (Assistants who have applied to NYS for licensure and have been informed that there is an area of deficiency are usually placed in this \u201cTier\u201d and are only required to take the course work needed to satisfy the specific deficiencies noted by the state.)<\/span><\/p>\n
