<\/p>\nAs a student in school, and athlete in sports, many valuable experiences have crossed my path. Most likely the most valuable experience i have ever gone through is simply coming to school everyday while working my hardest. For the past five years in school, i have achieved high honor roll in every one of my classes. Not only this but i have been selected for advanced mathematics, history, and english. these advanced classes have strengthened my abilities, and are preparing me for my future education in college. As a student i strive to achieve many goals including finishing in the top ten in my class, and excelling in every course i select until i graduate. <\/p>\n
Aside from achieving within the classroom, i also strive to achieve on the field, this year, i was selected as team captain for Lacrosse as well as Soccer, and was also recognized as a team leader in basketball. I never feel as though i need to be the best on the team, as long as i can help my team strive as a unit, i am satisfied with the job i am accomplishing. Seeing a team work well, motivates me to work harder everyday i come to practice. Reasons such as this are just a couple examples of why i have always made a connection with sports. Seeing my friends and teammates having fun is just as amazing as winning in my opinion.<\/p>\n
While sports and school have always interested me, extracurricular activities are often a great opportunity to learn new things. I have played the cello for 8 years now, and i often find a musical instrument can be a great outlet for stress and anger. When i am put in a bad situation, music is always there for me, i can alway reach for my cello, in times of doubt. As a musician, potentially my biggest challenge\/reflection was my first audition, i remember practicing for weeks in order to play a piece i loved the sound of. I played everyday i came home, and it was an incredible experience because i was able to achieve something i put a serous amount of effort into, over a long period of time. I arrived at the audition and played in-front of a large panel of judges, who at the time looked rather threatening. I remembered the time i put into the piece, and played under a rather large amount of pressure. However i later received my score, and i had finished one point shy of a perfect score, at the time i was extremely relieved, and realized that with work, come excellence. This was a great example of that.<\/p>\n
As a child in a very busy family, i understand that with school, and sports, and cello, comes responsibility, i always attempt to manage my free time wisely, and homework is always a first priority. There have been occasions where my homework was not submitted on time, and for a short period of time, my grades reflected it. However, i confronted my teacher, asked him what i needed to do to fix my grade, and thankfully he was very helpful, we discussed the situation, and we came to a conclusion, i put in the extra time, and received a better grade in the class, it is little experiences like this that i can reflect on and understand that these are what makes someone a better person overall.<\/p>\n
