This is my first year as a teacher however, this is not my first experience with interacting with youth. I have many years experience working with youth from a variety of different backgrounds. It was at Finger Lakes Residential Center rand George Jr. where I discovered my passion for wanting to make a difference in a students life before they end up in a situation such as a Finger Lakes. I received my Bachelors Degree in Human Development from Binghamton University. I received two years training in early childhood education at SUNY Cortland, and most recently received my Masters&nbsp; Degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University and, I&nbsp; am certified as a Special Education Generalist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stephanie Panfel: This is my 26<sup>th<\/sup> year of teaching and I have been at Spencer for 16 years. I have worked here as a Reading Teacher, 5<sup>th<\/sup> grade classroom teacher, Social Studies teacher and now a teacher of Humanities and Literacy. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Brooklyn College for my Bachelor\u2019s Degree. I then moved to Ithaca, NY and received my first Masters in Education from SUNY Cortland and then received my Reading Certification from Elmira College. In my free time, I enjoy sailing on Cayuga Lake with my family.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emily Cron: Has been teaching at Spencer Middle School for 4 years. She teaches Humanities and Literacy. She spends a great deal of time developing relationships with her students. She just had a baby boy names Wyatt is on maternity leave at this time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mrs. Angela Holmes &#8211; Literacy Coach Grades 5-8. &nbsp;This is my tenth year teaching at Spencer Van Etten and I couldn&#8217;t imagine being anywhere else.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve been in education for the past eighteen years, in many different roles, in multiple states.&nbsp; I began as a classroom teacher and have taught Kindergarten, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grades in Kansas, Virginia, and now New York. The past 5 years I have been working as a literacy specialist at our elementary school and this year have become full time here at the middle school.&nbsp;&nbsp; My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mansfield University, PA.&nbsp; My master&#8217;s degree is from Old Dominion University, VA and is in Reading Education Grade K-12.&nbsp; I live in Spencer NY with my husband and three children.&nbsp; When I&#8217;m not working with kids, I like to garden, run, read and watch my kids play sports.&nbsp; I love books and have read many but my most favorite book is, <u>Walk Two Moons<\/u>, by Sharon Creech.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rodney Miller: I am Emily Cron&#8217;s long-term substitute for Literacy and Humanities for the duration of the school year.
