Super Power Word: Generosity

By | December 6, 2018

Below are the highlights of this week’s Dolphin Dispatch, which introduced generosity as our character trait of the month and our programs this month that will encourage development of this trait in our scholars. Dolphin Dispatch is our school’s weekly newsletter. You can download this week’s newsletter here.

Our Super Power Word is Generous

I can give and share with others.

This December, we will be working on a very important character trait in our scholars: generosity. We hope that you work on this important character trait at home, too. You can:

  • Write a nice note to a teacher or friend.
  • Give compliments freely and often.
  • volunteer at or donate to a charity.
  • Share a smile and a kind word with a stranger.
  • Bake a special treat for your neighbor.

Model and encourage generosity at home. try saying, “When I saw you share your toy with your sister, it made me feel so happy!” Point out when others are being generous, too. “Look at your friend, sharing her toys with you–how generous!” Don’t forget Suze Orman’s quote:

Time and love are the most valuable possession you can share.

Are you the Angel We Need?

We are looking for Diven families who are able and willing to sponsor other Diven families this month, to make sure no little Dolphin feels left out this holiday season. These Angel Fish Families will receive a wish list with the age, gender, clothing size, and interests of a Dolphins scholar and/or sibling and will purchase one or more holiday gifts for that child. If you are interested in being an Angel Fish, please send an e-mail with the subject, “Angel Fish Volunteer” to your parent Partner at ezilinski@gstcontractors.com. Thank you for your generosity!
