About Us

The Diven Elementary Parent Partner

The Family and Community Outreach Coordinators (FCOC) used to be called the Parent Partners, and it’s what most people still call us. Every school has an FCOC, and we are there to help connect you to your school by providing programs, information, resources, and support. The activities we host are designed to promote communication between the school and students’ families, support the school curriculum, and bring parents into the school family. The success of your child’s education is heavily influenced by your involvement in your child’s school. We are here to make sure you have everything you need to be actively involved.

My name is Liz Zilinski, and I became the Diven Parent Partner in December 2018. I have two children, one in Kindergarten and one that will soon be in preschool. You may know me from my involvement in other community organizations, including Horseheads Family Resource Center, Paradise Garden Animal Haven, Chemung County SPCA, and the Chemung Valley Audubon Society. You can contact me by e-mail (click the mail link at the top of the page) or by visiting my office, C101, Monday – Friday from 7:30am – 11:30pm. I do tend to walk around the school, so appointments are strongly encouraged!

The Diven School Organization

The Diven School Organization (DSO) is a team of parents/caregivers and teachers whose goal is to provide fun, family-friendly activities that promote school spirit, family involvement, and parent-teacher communication. The DSO meets every month to discuss activities and fundraising, and is always in need of volunteers. I work closely with the DSO to help promote their programming and hear what parents are looking for with regards to school activities.
