We are so excited to share this news! Our district was one of 40 districts nationwide to receive the Innovative Approaches to Literacy Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Education!
What does this mean? This three-year grant will provide $2.2. million to implement our Climb Aboard the Reading Express (C.A.R.E.) program, funding literacy activities for students in kindergarten – 3rd grade. Our school libraries and classrooms will be stocking up on new books, and every child in these grades will receive books to keep so that our youngest scholars can build a home library.
The grant starts at the end of this school year, and you can look for your children in these grades to receive 25 – 40 books before school lets out in June! We hope our children find themselves embracing literature all year long with the help of this grant. 🙂
