Every class at our school has a Recharge Station. It’s a dedicated space for our kids to go to when they need a moment to recharge, kind of a self-elected time out. Our recharge stations have sensory items, like putty, fidget spinners, squishy toys, and slime, as well as other calming activities. It’s a great way to keep a child in the learning environment while addressing negative behavior in a positive way. The fact is that for our age group, the behavior our kids show us is not always positive: there’s whining, tantrums, and selfishness during play time. We recognize that social development is a huge part of education, and while you work on positive reinforcement of good behavior at home, we are dedicated to providing the same type of positive reinforcement and behavior redirection in classrooms. Our children are the future! Let’s make it bright.
