Super Power Word: STAR

By | September 18, 2019

Last week, every student put on their super hero cape and experienced the first Town Meeting of the school year! Every month, each grade has an assembly where we discuss our learning goals and how to be a great school community. We also introduce our Super Power Word of the Month—this month, it’s STAR! It’s the four ways your child can respectfully listen to and add to conversations in school:

  • Sit up and listen.
  • Track the speaker.
  • Ask and answer questions.
  • Respect those around you.

Our big focus was on mutual respect. Our teachers did some hilarious informative role-playing for the little ones about different situations that we see all year long, good and bad. On the playground, in the cafeteria, walking through the halls, or at home, the way you speak and act around others matters.

Join the Diven School Organization Facebook group to view a video clip from the town meeting: I Wanna Be a Super Hero!

I wanna be a super hero! Bringing trouble down to zero! I do what’s right and I fix what’s wrong! So, all my friends can follow along!

It’s the song we sing every meeting—ask your little one to sing it to you!
