Let’s Learn About: Diven School Organization Meetings

By | November 4, 2019

The Diven School Organization is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to support the students, families, and staff of Diven Elementary through family programming and events. Like any non-profit organization, decisions are made through board meetings. Board meetings can be private or public; most of our meetings are held publicly so that we can discuss what’s going on with the DSO with all of you. If you’d like to discuss something with the DSO at a board meeting, please don’t be shy! We ask that you let us know by the morning of the meeting what you’d like to discuss, so we can get it on the agenda. Having an agenda helps us time our discussions so we can keep our meetings to less than an hour. Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings, and we provide free childcare so that those who have children—as all of our board members do—can relax during the meeting while their children play in the gym with one of our background-checked staff members. You can also choose to have your child with you at the meeting.

Our Tuesday, November 12, DSO Meeting will be in the Diven library at 6pm. Free childcare will be provided, and starting this meeting, we will have evening meetings every other month so that our working parents have the opportunity to participate in the organizational side of the DSO. Thus, our December meeting will be at 3pm, January will be at 6pm, February at 3pm, and so on. If you’d like to speak about anything at the meeting, please ask to be added to the agenda. E-mail ezilinski@gstcontractors.com with your name so we can put you in the meeting schedule. The meetings typically last 45 minutes. We can’t wait to see you there! ?
