Well, it looks like somebody woke up Mother Nature, because there’s snow on the ground as I write this. So, let’s talk about something that becomes a concern for us here at Diven every time the weather turns: early drop-off.
While classes start at 8:20am, we open the doors at 7:45am so that children can arrive early and enjoy a free breakfast, get situated with their friends, and then head off to class with full bellies and happy hearts. Each year around this time, we notice some children being left alone in front of the school before 7:45am. They don’t have supervision, and there is no place to sit or stand to stay warm.
We want to help you and your child feel welcome and safe, and we don’t ever want to have one of our scholars put in a dangerous situation. If you live more than a mile from the school, you can sign your child up for the bus, which typically arrives to pick up children between 6:50 – 7:20. Otherwise, we require that you wait with your child until we open the building.
We also have free winter coats, gloves, hats, etc. for our scholars. Please visit the school nurse if you need these items. Our kids grow so fast, and it can be hard to keep up! Coats are not cheap. We’ve got you covered. If you have new or gently used, clean winter gear, please donate them to our school nurse.
