Some of you asked about awards for pre-kindergarten students. Students in our pre-kindergarten classes receive Good Kid Patrol awards, like our older students, but they don’t receive academic/effort awards (Best Fin Forward or Super Splash Awards). Children in pre-K are as young as three and as old as five, and the academic and social skills are so variable and independent of their academic efforts that it’s just not fair to present those kinds of awards to them. We hold a special celebration at the end of the year for the children, but academic/effort awards start in kindergarten. Ask your pre-k child if they’ve earned a Good Kid Patrol award this week or filled someone’s bucket today. ?
