Schoology for Virtual Classes

By | September 9, 2020

Alicia Bubb has made a short-but-sweet video showing you how to navigate your child’s Schoology portal. Check it out here.

Materials

Teachers are going to distribute supply bags to students beginning next week, and virtual students will have priority. Your child’s teacher will contact you with pick up information when the supplies are available.

Schoology Access

Your Schoology login information was mailed to your home, and if your home is like mine, it was promptly misplaced. No worries! If you’ve lost your login information and have access to SchoolTool or ParentPortal, your child’s user name is Lastname-firstname and the password is their student ID number (and that info is in SchoolTool and ParentPortal). If you don’t have access, you can contact me (ezilinski@gstcontractors.com), the school, or your child’s teacher to get this information.

Attendance

Virtual students and hybrid students will be expected to have good attendance. Hybrid students will be marked present when they arrive in classrooms at school. Virtual students will have to check in to their Schoology accounts to be marked present. With many families juggling jobs and school, we are not expecting virtual students to follow a strict school schedule, but we do expect them to complete the work assigned in a timely manner. We understand that for some families, this may mean logging in on in the evening or on the weekend to complete Schoology assignments. There is a bit of grace, here. We know these are unprecedented times, and you’re doing the best you can.

Still Need Help?

I’m here to help you! I have a child in Kindergarten and a second grader, so I’m going through many of the same things you are. If you have any questions, concerns, comments, please reach out.
