Clubs
Last year when I was in 9th grade i was in Journalism Club in Watkins Glen High school. Some things that I loved and experienced in Journalism club was that we learned how to work together as groups to make our school news paper, I got to work in a computer design and destine our schools news paper. Another thing that I got to do is write story’s for our school and then having people enjoy reading my story’s. Some things that I’ve experienced was that how to interact with one and other, coming up with new ideas for each new news paper we publish. Once journalism Club was almost over for the year as a class to took a trip to New York City. It was my first time ever traveling to New York City and i have to say to was my highlight of my year. I got to eat new foods, experience the tall building and the lights and never go out during the night. The city was quite live even during the night time. Below you will see some pictures of last years school’s paper and the trip to New York City.
Reflection
When I choose journalism club it expresses my writing skills and how I improved my writing skills over my 9th grade year. By this knowing how to correctly write and keep practicing my writing skills. My writing skills can help me in the future, when getting a job i can improve upon the company I am working for and help them in the long run.
Volunteer
I have volunteered in Montour Falls First Baptist Church. Where I helped carry in and organize food in the church, helped people get the food they needed, Seated people where they needed to be seated, Greeted people while they were walking into the church. By this it helped me as a person to help other people and to communicate with people who I don’t even know, and it helped to get rid of my shyness and fear of talking in front of people. Now it is very easy for me to stand up at talk to a large group of people, and it made me more confidence in myself while talking to others. Below you will see a picture of the church I volunteered at.
Reflection
When I chose my volunteer work it shows how I grew in a person by helping people with food problems when they couldn’t afford food. By this it can help me in the future is by always helping and listening to people every and overall just being a helpful, respectful, and kind person to others.
My Own Painting
I choose this drawing of mine because it was one of my first ever actually painting that I’ve ever done in acrylic paint . Another reason that I choose this painting is because I spent so much time trying to make this painting by sketching it out, painting the sketch, and trying to perfect the sketch. By this I had ran into many problems while painting this. For example trying to get the right pattern and texture it hard at first but once you start getting used to doing the same pattern and texture it gets easier along the way. Some of the technics I used was instead of using a paint brush I used my fingers to get a blurry effect out of the painting. This painting is also very important to me because it taught to how to actually paint the correct way. Below you will see a picture of my first ever painting
Reflection
When I picked my painting it shows how determined I can be when working on a project or anything in that matter. This can help me in the future because it shows other people that I can stick to one thing and get the job finished in a timely manner.
My own Drawing
This drawing of mine is one of my favorites for many reasons. It shows how much of a artist I become over the summer. Over the summer I would spend my time doing works of art instead of sitting around and being bored all summer long. To pass the time and being creative everyday I would make new drawings and paintings with the same type of style or many different types of styles. Also by doing lots of works of art I expanded my learning ability every single day and learned something new about how to do different styles of art. Below you will see one of my drawings what I did over the summer break.
Reflection
When I picked this drawing of mine it made me think of how I grew as a artist, person, and learner over the summer. As working hard everyday improving my skills it made me think of how much I want to learn how to be a better artist in the future. By wanting to be an artist and a teacher I decided in the future to be a art teacher. Having the skills of an artist, good listener, teaching, organizer and so much more it makes me want to teach others on how to learn something new everyday and learn on how to improve yourself every day.
