Autumn in the Music Room

In September, our music classes will explore the use of rhythm using hand drums from several different cultures around the world. and bucket drumming. We will learn and play patterns on:

  • A set of African hand drums including congas and djembe drums
  • A set of Native American Buffalo hand drums
  • Cajon drums from Mexico
  • Hand percussion instruments from South America and Indonesia
  • Bucket drums


After we review our rhythm knowledge, we will explore reading and creating music using classroom xylophones, hand percussion, Boomwhackers, keyboards, ukuleles, and guitars.
