My name is Seamus Mooney, I currently attend Watkins Glen High School, and play multiple sports including Soccer, Lacrosse, and Basketball. I am currently living in a rural area of the school district I live in, and am surrounded by three loving family members, including my sister, my mother, and my father. My family rarely spends time together however, due to the constant activities we all partake in, whether its practice, games, concerts, or work, myself and my family always manage to stay busy, because of this i have learned not only how to manage my time cautiously and carefully, but also how to act courteously around the people i love, this is a strength i believe i poses, that is beginning to fade away in an age like today,ive learned that doing something as simple as setting the table for dinner, or cleaning the plates without being asked, can truly go a long way, and because of this, i believe the majority of my common knowledge and common courtesy, comes from the people i love, my family.
When regarding the educational standpoint of my life, school, has never exactly been my favorite, and i often find it hard to consistently pay attention in class. However, i understand that school is the key to my success in the future, and the work i put into paying attention, will pay off in the future when i apply for college, or a job. I also understand that an education does more than simply getting you into a college, it teaches you life skills, and how to accurately complete tasks, on time, and concisely, similar to how someone would do so in a work environment. Within the school environment, i am focused on every one of my classes that i take. However, some classes interest me more than others, for example, english and history have always interested me more than other classes have, and because of this, much more of my time and effort goes in to the studying and achieving, related to these classes. However, while classes that interest me always make for much better fun, i also understand that the classes i am weaker in, need to be worked on, in order to ensure my success in them. subjects such as math and science aren’t my strongest subjects, but i put the time, and effort so that i can be successful in them. The effort i put into the subjects that challenge me in school, is the same effort i can use in any working environment presented to me, and that is why i consider myself an asset to any company, looking to hire me.
When competing in athletics, i try to bring the same intensity i work with in school, onto the court, field, or turf. I put forward effort within everything i do when i compete, and because of this i believe i have become a stronger person, as a whole. I was selected as captain for the lacrosse, and soccer team, this year, and i was proud to be selected as a leader. I believe leadership skills are extremely important when doing anything in general. It is key for an individual to poses, and without the ability to lead, one cannot strive in a working environment.
