Tips for the Summer

Summer is finally here and although it is fun filled, we still need to keep up with our school skills. Some tips to help you keep up your summer learning without losing the summer fun!

*Join your local library: Most libraries have summer reading programs. These usually happen once a week, sometimes they have read-alouds, activities or even shows. 

*Purchase a summer work book: one pages does take very long, but one page a day can go a long way. They make fun work books now with super heroes, star wars or even princesses! 

*Use online games: many students want to be one a computer or tablet anyway, use it to your advantage. There are a ton of free games available for students. Check out the resources link to find some age appropriate ones for your students! 

Summer regression can be very serious! Get a head start and come back next year ready to move forward!

By 6th grade learning loss can have accumulated- causing students to be an average of 2 years behind their peers.

It can take 2 months of the of the first part of school to recover what was lost.

2-3 hours a WEEK is all it takes to stay on track.
