I want to mention the importance of math facts. Think about creating or building anything in life. Everything you create or build requires building blocks, some sort of foundation to build from. If you are building a house you need a literal foundation. IF you are building a relationship you need to build a foundation of commonalities or shared experiences. Like everything in life, math needs those building blocks. Math facts are the building blocks of math skills. Math has a natural order. Before you can solve complex problems, you have to be able to solve simple problems. Before solving simple problems you need to perform math operations, before you can perform operations, you need MATH FACTS. Math facts need to be studied and practiced until they become instant. This can be done with flash cards, math games, dice, digital games etc… There are so many options available. If you struggle with math facts, building on any math skill will always be difficult.
